Abby Has a Loose Tooth, a Wiggly Jiggly Loose Tooth

Way back in November, when I first noticed Abby's loose tooth, I started singing the loose tooth song that I learned in first grade.  A couple of weeks later, she learned the same song in music class, so we've been singing it for the last few months as her tooth got gradually looser.  Tonight, we can finally sing the last part - "so now she's got a quarter and a hole in her head!"

The last couple of days, her tooth has been getting really loose, but she's been afraid to do too much to it, despite repeated readings of The Berenstain Bears Go to The Dentist.  She'd asked me to wiggle it for her a couple of times, but didn't even want to wiggle it herself.  Then yesterday she got brave and decided to wiggle it herself, and she's hardly had her hand out of her mouth since.  Tonight, she decided to ask Dad to pull it out for her.  And about 10 seconds later, we had this!

Abby's Tooth

Now we just have to see if the Tooth Fairy makes an appearance tonight.

Update from Dad:

The tooth fairy did end up making an appearance the other night. She found Abby sleeping soundly, carefully cradling her tooth. Around 2 am, Abby woke up and realized her tooth was gone, the conversation went something like:

AG: Dad, Dad wake up. I lost my tooth.
Dad: What, is it 2 am?
AG: Dad, I lost my tooth, how will the tooth fairy find it now?
Dad: Go check under your pillow, she probably just left your money there.
AG: But the bag is gone too, why would she take the bag?
Dad: She's supposed to take the bag, go check your pillow, I'm sure she left the money there

I suppose it's a little funny now, too bad we didn't think to spell out the specific etiquette of the tooth-cash exchange before bed.
